The international immunology summer school "ABC7: Autoimmunity, B cells and Complement" in Tallinn Viru Conference Center on 14.-16. June brought together 71 participants from 15 countries around Europe. 

The 17 invited speakers gave excellent talks that covered different aspects of immunology and autoimmunity. Despite the fact that the keynote speaker Burchard Becher’s flight was canceled, the participants could still listen to his world-class lecture via the web. As the summer school was targeted for starting researchers, altogether 44 participants were undergraduate or graduate students, post-doctoral researchers or medical residents. They presented their results either in oral or poster presentation sessions. The ABC7 evaluation committee formed by Susan Wong and Anna Šedivá, gave the highest score to Julia Roquingi’s talk and Tuuliki Pomerants’s and Francisco Osorio-Barrios’s poster presentations. Congratulations to the winners! In addition, a career development workshop was held to promote the career start of younger colleagues. 

In conclusion, the summer school helped to build contacts between the Baltic immunology societies and the Nordic Complement Committee. Discussions about several new collaborative projects were initiated.
